The Real Da Vinci Code | Caroline Cocciardi

Leonardo’s Knots is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts, education, and organization. Our mission is to unveil a previously unknown fresco by Leonardo da Vinci, The Room of Knots (Sala Delle Asse). Leonardo’s masterpiece remained concealed for five centuries.

The Room of Knots is situated on the ground floor of Milan’s Sforza Castle. The dome ceiling, spanning 2,500 square feet, has faded to a blur of colors. Yet beneath the deterioration lies a hidden treasure, an extravaganza of knots displaying 16 trees, many intertwined branches, and 37 gold leaf ropes meandering through a dense array of mulberry leaves.

Caroline Cocciardi, the author of “Leonardo’s Knots,” and her team have meticulously restored The Room of Knots using digital techniques bringing it back to its original spender when Leonardo completed it in 1498.

Many unknown revelations have been revealed in the deep dissection of The Room of
Knots. For instance, Leonardo’s signature emblem was discovered, surprisingly the same symbol was found on the Mona Lisa painting. This revelation and others deepen our appreciation of Leonardo’s artistic heritage and the importance of reintroducing his masterwork to the public.

Today, the legacy of a destroyed Leonardo masterpiece continues with The Room of Knots. Our non-profit organization, Leonardo’s Knots, aims to highlight Leonardo’s final grand fresco in planetariums worldwide. Leonardo crafted it on a dome ceiling, and we
aspire to display it as he originally intended.

This is our chance to pass the invisible baton to the next generation and elevate
Leonardo’s ceiling to the same recognition given to Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling.

We ask for your donations to make this a reality.
